My Journey
From a General Captain in Little Flower School(LFS), Gorakhpur to an Assistant Commandant in SSB, my journey has been full of ups and downs.
I was born and brought up in the city of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. I used to play basketball, cricket and badminton at district level. I was the only student to win three elections in a row and serve as an office bearer for 3 consecutive terms. I therefore had a fair idea of leadership, management and organizing big events. I completed my 12th from PCM and Computer Science.
I went on to do my B.Tech in Information Technology from Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE, Manipal, Karnataka. I started playing extreme sports like Taekwondo, Karate and Boxing. I went for various tournaments and received a silver medal in Karate Nationals, 2015 for Karnataka. I also played Boxing at state level and fetched a Silver medal for Manipal in 2016.
I qualified GATE in 2016 and then went on to complete my M.Tech in Information Security from AIACTR, now NSUT - East Campus, Delhi. I completed my Masters by mid 2018 and had started preparing seriously for UPSC exams. I prepared my own notes using the booklist provided on this website.
I qualified the written exam by October 2019 and then started preparing for PET and MST almost immediately. I used to fight in Heavyweight category in Boxing which ranges from 81-91kgs, while the maximum acceptable weight according to CAPF standards was 73 kgs for me. So, I had lost around 12 kgs weight within 45 days to ensure that I clear the MST without much fuss.
Then came the interviews. I prepared my own notes based on DAF and the inputs I received from my peers after they took my mock interviews. Despite Covid 19 and subsequent delays, I eventually cleared UPSC CAPF AC Exam in 2019 by attaining an All India Rank 23. Meanwhile, I also got an opportunity to interact with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan on a KBC show aired on 30th November, 2020 when a contestant named Ms. Ruchika Tripathi called me for help using the lifeline video-call-a-friend.
